Let 'Supergirl' Star Mehcad Brooks Freestyle His Way Into Your Heart
You don’t get to be friends with not just one, but two Kryptonian immigrants-turned-superheroes without having plenty of hustle. During a recent visit to the Yahoo TV studio, Supergirl star Mehcad Brooks revealed that he’s got just the right amount of flow as well, laying down a fresh freestyle rap about his alter ego James (not Jimmy) Olsen. “Superman is my best friend/My right hand is on the lens/And Supergirl is on the left side/And that’s the best side,” the actor raps in the above video. If you’re somehow still resisting the charms of James Olsen, this performance will totally be your Kryptonite.
After busting some rhymes, Brooks stuck around to answer fan questions submitted via Twitter — one of which led to a great crossover idea for Supergirl. Responding to a question about which villain he’d like to see the Girl of Steel battle, the actor revealed that his all-time favorite baddie happens to be a certain clown-faced Joker. Sure, that crook tends to loiter around Gotham City, but there’s no reason why he can’t book a one-week (or two-week, to allow for a cliffhanger) vacation in National City! Brooks already has the perfect person in mind to play the Joker: Donald Trump. Hang on, Mehcad — did you see last week’s Saturday Night Live? Joking isn’t exactly Trump’s strong suit.
