Matt Lauer Couldn't Stop Complimenting Bryan Cranston on 'Today'

Sparks flew as Matt Lauer interviewed Bryan Cranston on Thursday’s Today. The Breaking Bad star was promoting Power Rangers and Lauer marveled at Cranston’s versatility. He said, “You’re like a pitcher, a baseball pitch we’re a great change-up. You really do like to change up between roles. You do a couple hard-hitting fastball roles and you do something like this and have fun.”

Then Lauer geeked out on Cranston’s roles on The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Before his role in the film, Cranston did voices for some of the creatures on the TV show. To Cranston’s weird surprise, Lauer recalled the very name of character Cranston voiced decades ago.

Then after Cranston mimicked the strange noises he had to make for the show Lauer responded, “You’re the cheapest date I’ve ever seen.”

Cranston replied, “You have to take me to dinner first.”
