Mandy Moore To Co-Star In ABC Pilot ‘Pulling’, Eloise Mumford In ‘Reckless’

EXCLUSIVE: Mandy Moore is set as one of the leads in ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot Pulling, based on the praised 2006 British series. The pilot, written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and directed by Jason Moore, revolves around three dysfunctional women in their 30s living their lives the way they want, even if society tells them they should have it all figured out by this point. Moore plays one of them, Louise, who is optimistic and desperate to snag a husband — but her man-hungry tactics typically backfire. ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment produce, with Sharon Horgan and Dennis Kelly, creators of the original series, executive producing with Eisenberg, Stupnitsky and Aaron Kaplan. ABC has long had its eye on Moore. The network produced a comedy pilot starring the actress last season and earlier this season bought a Rich Appel comedy project she was attached to with a put pilot commitment.

Eloise Mumford (The River) also is returning to ABC as the female lead in drama pilot Reckless. Written/exec produced by Chris Black and directed/exec produced by Martin Campbell, the thriller centers on a resourceful problem solver who, when his wife Sarah (Mumford) is unjustly imprisoned during a political uprising overseas, resorts to entering a world of political intrigue, dangerous alliances and high emotional stakes in order to get her out. Sarah is described as a fearless adventurer working as a doctor at a medical clinic in East Myanmar.
