A Look Back at Joan Lee’s Contribution to Marvel Television Shows
Joan Lee, the wife of Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, died on Thursday at the age of 95. The couple were married for 69 years. Joan was also a part of the Marvel family. Stan Lee has credited his wife with inspiring him to create Fantastic Four. The comic book creator was reportedly depressed and considering leaving comics when she told him to create one more comic that he was proud of. Fantastic Four was a turning point in the creation of Marvel Comics.
Joan Lee voiced two roles in Marvel TV shows. In the 1990s animated Spider-Man television series she played Madame Web, a character who confronts Peter Parker about his true identity. She also played Miss Forbes in the animated Fantastic Four. Additionally, she appeared alongside her husband in a cameo in the film X-Men: Apocalypse.
