'Living With the Enemy' Preview: Fat-Shaming or Truth-Telling?

Is it fat-shaming or truth-telling? That’s the question Lifetime will pose to viewers with the premiere of its six-part docuseries Living With the Enemy. In the grand tradition of opposites-definitely-don’t-attract reality series like Wife Swap, each episode of Enemy will make two women with diametrically opposing views live together for eight days — enough time to ensure maximum drama, tears, and lesson-learning. The series kicks off by pairing “big beautiful woman” Kristy Love with health-and-fitness nut Michel Marley, and as you’ll see from the clip above, these two can barely be in the same room with each other without getting into a shouting match. (“You go ahead and eat — oink, oink!” “Get your Skeletor a– out of my house!”)

Other culture clashes coming this season include a helicopter mom versus a free-spirted parent, a vegan versus a hunter, and a same sex wife paired with a “traditional marriage” advocate. Can’t we all just get along? Actually, never mind — that would make for really boring TV.

Living With the Enemy premieres Thursday, July 9 at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.
