‘Life in Pieces’ Season 2 Premiere Preview: Matt’s Wrestling With a New Problem

Matt (Thomas Sadoski) and fiancée Colleen (Angelique Cabral) spent most of Season 1 overcoming obstacle after obstacle on their way to a season finale engagement, and now they’re ready to move in together. But, because the Life in Pieces writers know a complications-free relationship would be no fun, they’re throwing another one at Matt and Colleen in the Oct. 27 Season 2 premiere.

Her name is Dougie (Fortune Feimster), and she’s the super enthusiastic roommate of Colleen… and now Matt. But just one day with the aggressively (and hilariously) intrusive Dougie has Matt encouraging Colleen to ask Dougie to find new digs.

Dougie agrees to move out on one condition: She and Matt, both former high school wrestlers, will throw down in a match, and if he can pin her, she’ll move out.

In the clip above, after a nose-to-nose confrontation (which, honestly, we don’t know how Sadoski and Feimster got through without laughing), Matt and Dougie set a date for a match at Matt’s parents’ house, and her very bright arrival will be the funniest thing you see all week.

Elsewhere in the premiere, scene stealers Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman guest star as Mary-Lynn and Spencer, the sister and brother who raised Clementine (Hunter King). And when Heather (Betsy Brandt) and Tim (Dan Bakkedahl) go to them for support in trying to get Tyler (Niall Cunningham) and Clementine to end their unexpected marriage, they instead grow more concerned about Mary-Lynn and Spencer’s unusually close relationship.

There’s also unexpected news for Greg (Colin Hanks) and Jen (Zoe Lister-Jones), and Joan (Dianne Wiest) and John (James Brolin), whose emergency hospital visit leaves his sons feeling envious of Tim in the series’ A+ sophomore season opener.

Life in Pieces Season 2 premieres Oct. 27 at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.
