Lava Puns Erupt All Over ‘Kids Baking Championship’

On Kids Baking Championship, the kids were challenged with making volcano Bundt cakes, which are superhot right now. The judges really turned up the heat when they gave them a surprise added challenge of making four edible boulders. Some boulders took the shape of truffles or Rice Krispies treats, but Jason’s were solid chocolate, and the judges joked with him that his chocolate lava Bundt cake and his solid chocolate boulders might have been a touch too heavy on the chocolate. Aidan really activated the judges’ palates with crushed-up sandwich cookies and banana-flavored frosting. Aidan also used isomalt, food coloring, and ice to create a sugary red-lava explosion. Kaniyah impressed the judges with an airbrushed strawberry cake. Cole’s chocolate-cinnamon volcano cake was picture-perfect. But Aidan ended up blowing the judges away with his passionfruit cake with banana buttercream and a supercool isomalt lava creation.

Kids Baking Championship airs Mondays at 8 p.m on the Food Network.
