Despite her larger than life stage persona, Kylie Minogue is relatively low maintenance.
In an interview with The UK's Independent, the 44-year-old "Timebomb" singer says she doesn't "step out of the house with an entourage" and hates riding in expensive cars. "I find them embarrassing! I'm like, 'Please don't send a limousine!'"
Still, Minogue -- who first rose to fame when she was cast on the Australian soap opera Neighbours in 1986 -- realizes she can have the best of both worlds.
"I love to have this glamorous life sometimes, and if I didn't have any of that, I would probably be dressing up a bit more each day or going out on the weekend and making a real effort. But I get to live out those fantasies on stage, in videos or photo shoots," the pop star explains. "But if I can go somewhere you can wear wellingtons -- and just be a total and utter bush person -- I need that."
After her 2007 split with French actor Olivier Martinez (who is currently engaged to Academy Award winner Halle Berry), Minogue began romancing Spanish model Andres Velencoso.
Being with someone like Velencoso, 34, has made Minogue realize that opposites attract. "I'm up and down. He's much more consistent," she tells Independent. "There's more balance than there used to be."
