Kudos Appoints Carnival’s Phil Temple To Exec Producer Role

Endemol Shine Group’s London-based Kudos has added Phil Temple to its ranks as executive producer, effective next week. The exec joins from NBC-owned Downton Abbey maker Carnival Films, where he was most recently a development producer after a two-year stint as the company’s Head of Development. Temple’s most recent projects include the BBC/BBC America historical drama The Last Kingdom, and 10-part series Stan Lee’s Lucky Man which will air on Sky One in January. Prior to joining Carnival, he worked as Creative Executive, Drama and Comedy at NBC Universal International and was earlier part of BBC Drama’s in-house team.

Temple’s appointment, the latest move by Kudos’ new joint CEOs Diederick Santer and Daniel Isaacs, follows on the heels of Jo Strevens being named Head of Development, among other executive shifts.

Kudos is the maker of such hit series as Broadchurch, Humans, The Tunnel and Grantchester. Along with further seasons of those shows on deck, Kudos is also producing six-part comedy/drama Flowers for Channel 4, starring Olivia Colman and Julian Barratt.

The company recently folded in film label Shine Pictures and Lovely Day which Santer previously led.
