Palin’s been on the road promoting a documentary called Climate Hustle, Kimmel explained, spouting off “very long, very dumb” sentences like, “It’s perpetuated, it’s repeated so often that too many people believe that, ‘Oh well I guess if 97 percent of all scientists believe that man’s activities are creating changes in the weather, who am I to question that?”

Exactly! Who are you to question that?” Kimmel shot back, before launching into a blistering takedown of those who accept money from big corporations “to make sure they keep doing the destructive things that they do” while denying climate change altogether.

“Unlike a lot of things, this isn’t a matter of political opinion. It’s a matter of scientific opinion, and in this case, overwhelming scientific opinion,” the impassioned host said, before joking, “What if I decided to deny the existence of yogurt? Think about it. I’ve seen the containers, I just don’t believe there’s anything in them. I believe yogurt is a conspiracy created by John Stamos.”

In an effort to assure people that 97% of scientists aren’t wrong, Kimmel partnered with GlobalChange.gov for a PSA in which experts speak out about the man-made disaster and what it could mean for the next generation (beginning at the 5:03 mark).
