Kim Kardashian Sued for Using Her Own Initials on Her Makeup Line

Kim Kardashian has made a bad initial impression on a fellow makeup purveyor.

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star has been slapped with a lawsuit — for using her own initials as the name of her recently launched cosmetics line, TMZ reports.

The suit was filed by Danish makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weiss, who contends that the logo for Kardashian’s KKW cosmetics line is too close to Weiss’ own KW line of cosmetics and makeup services, creating confusion for consumers.

Weiss argues that Kardashian has committed a “knowing, willing and deliberate” infringement that’s meant to fool consumers and damage Weiss’ business.

Reality TV star Kardashian adopted the name Kim Kardashian West — hence, KKW — when she married rapper Kanye West in 2014.

Weiss is asking for an order blocking Kardashian from using the KKW logo, as well as the profits from the line.

A spokeswoman for Kardashian told TheWrap that the lawsuit has “no merit,” and that Kardashian “has done everything by the book.”

“There is no merit to this lawsuit. Before launching, Kim received approval for KKW, KKW BEAUTY and KKW FRAGRANCE from the U.S. Trademark Office,” the statement reads. “When Ms. Weiss asked for a re-examination, the Trademark Office again approved the brand names for Kim’s company a second time. Kim has done everything by the book.”
