Kim Kardashian’s Robbery Mocked as ‘Publicity Stunt’ on Twitter

Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gun point on Sunday in Paris — but instead of sending her well-wishes, many fans mocked the incident on Twitter and claimed it was some sort of “publicity stunt.”

Kardashian West was tied up by armed robbers, locked in a bathroom and had over $10 million worth of jewelry stolen on Sunday night, according to the Associated Press.

She was in Paris staying at a private residence when the burglary took place. The culprits are still at large. A spokesperson said the reality TV star is “badly shaken but physically unharmed.”

The men were dressed as police officers and wore ski masks, according to Reuters. A Paris police official told the AP that five assailants put a gun to Kardashian West’s temple and stole a jewelry box containing valuables worth between $5.6 and $6.7 million, as well as a ring worth about $4.5 million.

While many made light of the situation, some fans rushed to the defense of the reality star. Celebs like Chrissy Teigen, James Corden, Piers Morgan and Leona Lewis also expressed their concern, with Teigen (who is friends with Kardashian) also responding to various trolls in a series of tweets.
