Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are developing a mom comedy for ABC through their production company, Milojo Productions, an ABC representative told TheWrap.
The project will follow a liberal single mom raising two kids in Brooklyn. The pilot will launch with her conservative 16-year-old son starting an internship at her small design firm with plans to take the family business global.
Ripa and Consuelos will executive produce with Sri Rao, the former head writer of Soapnet’s 2007 primetime spinoff, “General Hospital: Night Shift,” who’s also writing the project.
Rao is also currently working on NBC’s adaptation of Venezuelan telenovela “La Viuda Joven” called “The Black Widow.”
Milojo productions also produced TLC’s “Masters of Reception” and “Homemade Millionaire,” and E!’s “Dirty Soap,” among others.
