Judy Greer To Topline Fox Comedy Pilot

Judy Greer is set to play the lead in Fox’s untitled Laura Steinel comedy pilot (aka HR). In addition to starring, Greer will serve as a producer on the single-camera workplace pilot, written by writer-actress Laura Steinel and directed by The League co-creator Jeff Schaffer.

The project, from 20th Century Fox TV, centers around Jane (Greer), the over-used and under-appreciated head of H.R. for a

plastic molding plant, who is caught between trying to manage her charmingly incompetent human resources department and a new eccentric CEO who dreams of bringing the New Jersey plastics plant into the future. Naegle and Schaffer exec produce, with Steinel co-exec producing.

Despite her busy schedule, Greer was pursued by several broadcast comedy pilots this season, opting to do Fox’s HR project.

Greer is currently in pre-production on directing her first feature film, A Happening Of Monumental Proportions, written by Gary Lundy. Principato-Young Entertainment and Depth of Field are producing the comedy ensemble, starring Common, Jennifer Garner, Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford, which is fully financed and shoots in LA.

Acting-wise, Greer was recently seen in the features Jurassic World, Ant-Man, Tomorrowland, Entourage and indie Grandma and next co-stars in Wilson and Pottersville. In TV, Greer is a member of the voice cast of FX’s long-running animated comedy Archer and recently starred in the network’s comedy series Married. She is repped by Principato-Young Entertainment, CAA and attorney Fred Toczek.
