Jordan Spieth on the Time Bill Murray Gave a Cigar to a Kid at a Golf Tournament

Professional golfer Jordan Spieth was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and he talked about playing golf with Bill Murray, a regular at celebrity golf tournaments.

The three-time major winner said he enjoyed Murray’s ability to entertain the crowd for the entirety of a round, which can last upwards of five hours. One story Spieth recalled from a recent round involved Murray receiving a cigar from a fan in the crowd, and promptly handing it to a 9-year-old boy.

“He gives it back to Bill, and he goes — you know, in front of a group — Bill says, ‘What, are you trying to quit?’” Spieth recalled.

Later in the interview, Fallon brought a recent viral video of Spieth hitting a marshmallow in the air with a golf club and catching it in his mouth. In the video, Spieth was conducting a clinic for a bunch of young kids, so it only seems appropriate that Fallon was interested in the same thing.

Spieth tried hitting marshmallows into Fallon’s mouth, but the closest he got was a couple of tongue touches and a shot to the eye. Hopefully, Spieth performs a little better at this week’s PGA tour event in New York, the Barclays.
