Jon Stewart Doesn't Speak on 'Daily Show'

There are only seven episodes of The Daily Show left after Monday night, and Jon Stewart is getting very creative with his final performances behind the desk. Case in point: On Monday’s show, Stewart pantomimed his way through the entire second act. While the wordless segment came without warning, Stewart took a moment at the very end of the taping to explain, “For the past 15 or 16 years we’ve had a running joke that I could really do the show without saying anything."

That said, Stewart cheated a little bit by using a pre-recorded "We’ll be right back” button to throw to a commercial break. Regardless, he did a great job conveying his thoughts through exaggerated facial expressions, throat-clearing, wordless grunts, and pulling a strategically placed finger out of his inside coat pocket.

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
