Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” won the award for Variety Talk Series, besting late-night competitors such as Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden.

Earlier, British comedian and former “Daily Show” correspondent had also been asked by a reporter about whether he felt responsible for the rise of Donald Trump (See below).

Another reporter from Australia was called out by the late-night host for bashing Trump.

However, Oliver said his biggest disappointment of the night was not sitting Beyonce, who was a no-show at the Emmys.
