John Mayer on What It Would Take for Him to Be the Next Bachelor

Living pair of bedroom eyes John Mayer stopped by Ellen on Friday. Their conversation turned to perhaps the greatest reality romance to ever grace our television screens, The Bachelor, and whether he’d agree to be the next bachelor.

“I love the show, but it’s too much time to ask of me,” he bemoaned. “Two hours is a lot of buy-in time. Because I always watch the premiere, and at the end of it, they say, ‘On an unbelievable new Bachelor…,’ and I go: ‘Show me more of this! Show me more of this!’ I’ll pay $50 if you just show me the entire season in 30 minutes.”

Fifty dollars, John? You can do better than that!

While on the topic of whether he’d star in the series himself, he said, “I don’t think I would find love there, unless they would change the sort of vetting process for who would be the contestants.” Furthermore, if he were the bachelor, he speculated, “I think it would be one of the lowest-rated shows.”

Someone tell John Mayer there’s no need for such false modesty — he’s got a legion of fans who would happily eat up a Mayer-centric Bachelor.
