Jodie Sweetin Shares Her Addiction Story on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

On Monday’s Dancing With the Stars, Jodie Sweetin, of Full House fame, turned her personal struggles into an inspiring dance routine. She shared the heartbreak she experienced with the ending of Full House. “I was 13 years old, and it was a huge shift in my life. Everything that I’d known from the time I was 5 years old finally ended. Saying goodbye to a family that I loved very, very much.”

Sadly, Sweetin turned to drugs and alcohol to cope. She said, “Drugs and alcohol sort of numbed everything. I was doing cocaine, ecstasy, alcohol.”

However, she was able to turn her life around. With five years of sobriety behind her, she used the series Fuller House as a comeback. With that, she inspired her dance partner and choreographer to give a redemptive performance that left Sweetin in tears.
