Jodie Foster has signed on to star in Drew Pearce's directorial debut, Hotel Artemis.

Hotel Artemis is based on an original script by Pearce, who wrote Iron Man 3 and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Foster will play a character called "The Nurse" in the near-future thriller that is set in its own distinctive crime universe.

Simon and Stephen Cornwell are producing for The Ink Factory, which will also finance. Adam Siegel and Marc Platt are producing for Marc Platt Productions. The Ink Factory's Becky Sloviter is overseeing, and Pearce will executive produce through his Point of No Return production banner.

"Casting Jodie Foster is a real coup. She is an extraordinary talent and will bring something very special to the film. We are delighted to welcome her to this exciting production," The Ink Factory's Stephen Cornwell said Tuesday in a statement. "Drew's vision is unique and we can't wait to see it brought to life by a stellar cast."

Foster, who won Oscars for both The Accused and The Silence of the Lambs, most recently directed Money Monster, which starred George Clooney and Julia Roberts. She is next directing an episode of Netflix's hit show Black Mirror. Foster recently starred in sci-fi pic Elysium and The Beaver, which she also directed. She is repped by ICM Partners and attorney Matt Saver.

Pearce is repped by WME and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
