Jimmy Kimmel Unveils Emmys Cold Open Blooper Reel (Video)

Jimmy Kimmel did a terrific job hosting the 68th annual Emmys on Sunday, whether or not the TV ratings reflect the effort.

ABC’s Emmys kicked off with a fairly funny cold open, one that included cameos by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tony Hale, Jeb Bush, James Corden and the “Modern Family” cast, among others. With so many moving parts, there were bound to be bloopers — or as Kimmel later called them, “Boners and Boo-Boos.”

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live” host unveiled a reel of such screw-ups Monday night back on his own talk show, when he barely had a voice left.

Not surprisingly, the former Republican presidential candidate was the cause of a few of those mistakes. That’s not so much a jab at Jeb’s politics and familial history as it is pure recognition that he was the only non-actor of the bunch.

Still, even the season pros ruined some takes. Kimmel himself missed multiple stage directions, forgot to sing during the George Michael moments, and popped a button on his Emmys tuxedo shirt at an inopportune time. Even the great Louis-Dreyfus, who would win what felt like her 100th Emmy Award later in the evening, blew tape on a simple limo window roll-up.
