Kimmel broke down during his emotional monologue on Monday, when he shared that Billy was born with a heart defect and, at just three days old, underwent open heart surgery at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The surgery was successful, but Billy has to undergo two more heart procedures when he gets older.
"He's doing great," Kimmel, 49, shared. "He's eating, he's sleeping. He peed on his mother today while she was changing his diaper. He's doing all the things that he's supposed to do."
Kimmel thanked everyone for their ourpouring of support on Monday.
"On behalf of my family, thank you for the lovely and loving tweets about our son Billy and for your donations to http://www.chla.org XO," he tweeted.
