Jesse Lee Soffer Toplines NBC’s ‘Hatfields & McCoys’, French Stewart Joins CBS’ ‘Mom’

EXCLUSIVE: Jesse Lee Soffer (Fox’s The Mob Doctor) has landed the lead in NBC’s drama pilot Hatfields & McCoys, a modern-day take on the infamous feud executive produced by Charlize Theron. Written by John Glenn and directed by Michael Mayer, the project is set in present day Pittsburgh. A startling death re-ignites the feud between these two legendary families, unleashing decades of resentment. Soffer, repped by Innovative and The Collective, plays Patrick McCoy, the steady, fair-minded prodigal son of the McCoy family who returns home after years away. When his father is gunned down shortly thereafter and all evidence points to the Hatfields, Patrick finds himself at the breaking point, and he vows to destroy the Hatfields.

3rd Rock From The Sun alum French Stewart is returning to multi-camera comedy with a regular role in Chuck Lorre’s CBS comedy pilot Mom. The project, which Lorre co-wrote with Eddie Gorodetsky and Gemma Baker, stars Anna Faris as Christy, a newly sober single mom who tries to pull her life together in Napa Valley. Stewart, repped by Innovative and manager J.C. Robbins, will play Chef Rudy, the hot-tempered chef of an upscale Napa Valley restaurant.
