‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’: Our Favorite Moments
Netflix has been on a comedy spending spree, shoveling out huge sums of cash for standup specials from Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Amy Schumer, and now Jerry Seinfeld. The production deal also calls for 24 new episodes of Seinfeld’s hit series, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. So far, 55 episodes of the freeform interview show have been streamed 100 million times on Crackle. You know, Crackle, home to original online programming like Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser.
Prior to new episodes debuting later in 2017, Netflix will also receive exclusive streaming rights to the previous seasons, which include some amazing moments, like these reunions with his Seinfeld co-horts, Larry David, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael Richards. He even reunited with a couple Seinfeld characters (Jason Alexander and Wayne Knight reprised their roles of George Costanza and Newman, respectively).
Other highlights include coffee with Carl Reiner & Mel Brooks that turned into dinner with the hilarious duo, he and Louis C.K. also breaking format and trading in the car for a boat trip, and picking up President Barack Obama in a 1963 Corvette Sting Ray to discuss pressing political issues, like his underwear. Thanks, Obama. No, that was supposed to be sincere. I’m seriously thanking Obama for this wonderful piece of internet content.
