'Jeopardy!' contestant's surprising win with only $1

On Tuesday’s Jeopardy!, contestant Manny Abell found himself in third place heading into Final Jeopardy! But he shocked everyone with a very unlikely victory.

Abell entered the finals with a measly $1,000, while the other two contestant were tied at $12,300 each.

The “Final Jeopardy!” clue was, “It’s the only country that borders both the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf.”

None of the contestants got the right answer, which is Iran. Abell bet $999, so he was left with a single dollar.

The other two contestants both wagered their entire winnings, which meant they ended up with nothing. So Abell was crowned the champion.

This has only happened one other time in the game’s history: In 1993, a contestant won with only $1 on a similar geography question.
