Jenji Kohan Gets in the Ring with ‘Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling’

ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE? With some gorgeous ladies, that is. Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan is tag-teaming with Netflix once again to make G.L.O.W., a series all about the short-lived ‘80s professional wrestling league The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.

Between 1986 and 1990, a weekly series featured matches between the likes of Cheyenne Cher, Beastie, and the Heavy Metal Sisters. G.L.O.W. toured the country bringing hope to little girls that one day they could grow up, wear spandex, and beat the snot out of Mika the Headhunter.

Kohan’s ten-episode order will follow a yet-to-be-cast, out-of-work actress who takes a weekly gig in the original G.LO.W. league. Kohan will serve as EP with Tara Herrmann from Orange Is the New Black, as well as showrunners Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch.
