Watch Jamie Foxx Reveal the Title of His Latest Album on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'

Jamie Foxx’s busy film career has kept him out of the recording studio in recent years. But on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Oscar-winning actor and Grammy-winning musician confirmed that he has found the time to record his first album in five years. As a bonus, he revealed the title on air: Hollywood — a name that handily encapsulates both sides of his career.

“Making albums is different now,” said Foxx, whose last record was 2010′s Best Night of My Life. “You don’t have the luxury of, you know, how you take getting the band together and go to Guam or Laos and lay up and smoke a joint and let it come to us. It’s like, if you don’t get this damn record out, we’re going to fire your ass!” He also explained how his eldest daughter is keeping him in check: “I had on some shoes, and she was like ‘It’s too young, Dad. You got old feet. You got like Civil Rights feet, so you should have shoes for marching and sit-ins.’” That sounds like a great pitch for Foxx’s next film. And, better still, he’d also be able to write the soundtrack.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on ABC.
