James Corden Goes Nuts Over Surprise Birthday Gift From Montell Jordan

The Late Late Show celebrated James Corden’s 38th birthday by surprising the host with a video message from his family and favorite entertainers. After Corden watched his family sing the traditional “Happy Birthday” song, his favorite soccer player, Mark Noble, and his favorite band, O-Town, wished him a happy birthday as well. But it was the final gift from the singer Montell Jordan that made Corden go extra nuts.

The rapper recorded a message to Corden saying, “I was told that you are a very very big fan of my song “This Is How We Do It” and that when you hear it, it puts you in a happy mood.” The rapper then appeared in the studio and started singing the song, which is the host’s favorite.

“This Is How We Do It” was a very popular tune in 1995. In fact, it spent seven weeks as the No. 1 song on the the Billboard Top 100 charts. Since Corden would’ve been in the prime of his formative teenage years at that time, it makes sense that he loved the catchy tune.

The host’s desk also now comes with an emergency button that plays the song whenever he needs a pick-me-up. Corden said, “It’s the greatest present I could ever have.”

The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
