Hulu said Thursday that Andy Forssell, senior vp of content, will become acting CEO once Jason Kilar steps aside at the end of the month.

The Internet streaming company co-owned by ABC, Fox and NBCUniversal made the announcement via a blog entry from Kilar that was addressed to Hulu's employees.

"You know Andy well; he's been a critical senior executive and has been here from the start of this great adventure," Kilar wrote. "Andy exemplifies the Hulu culture and has been central to Hulu's journey, helping to grow this company from two content partners and no revenue to over 450 content partners and approximately $700 million revenue in 2012."

Prior to joining Hulu, Forssell was in various management positions with Siebel Systems and Oracle Corp. He's also a former U.S. Army captain.

Kilar said in January that he would resign his post before March 31 along with chief technology officer Rich Tom. Kilar has been CEO of Hulu for more than five years.
