'Heroes Reborn' Drops Bleak New Teaser

Where are the Heroes? On NBC, this fall. That’s when Tim Kring will lead the revival of his previously defunct 2006-10 series which launches on Sept. 24. This just-released teaser for Heroes Reborn showcases images of a world where the super-powered appear to be in hiding. And, in their absence, things have steadily fallen apart, leading citizens across the globe to ask that initial question: Where are those heroes, anyway? (Cue the Bonnie Tyler.)

We already know that original series stars Jack Coleman, Greg Grunberg, Masi Oka, and Sendhil Ramamurthy are returning, while new faces will include Zachary Levi and Rya Kihlstedt. Otherwise, Kring is keeping mum on the details, which means silence must be his super power. We imagine that we’ll learn the answers to some of these burning questions when the miniseries comes to Comic-Con, where the geek masses will demand clues to the central mystery about the heroes’ whereabouts. A digital series will also precede the show’s terrestrial TV debut, providing some important backstory that fills in the gap between the original series and this relaunch. Because, as we know from experience, TV fans aren’t always great at waiting for answers.

Heroes Reborn premieres Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
