'Heathers' Reboot: Meet the New Veronica and JD
How very… surreal.
TV Land’s in-the-works Heathers reboot has found its new Veronica and JD, the iconic characters played in the 1998 film by Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.Under the Dome actress Grace Cox will portray Veronica, while newcomer James Scully will inherit the role of JD, TVLine has learned.
Last month, TV Land formally greenlit a pilot for a half-hour, single camera series based on the 1988 cult classic. The cabler said it will “reimagine” Heathers as a present-day anthology series, with each season focusing on a different heroine and a new set of mean girls.
Terriers scribe Leslye Headland is on board to direct the pilot, which begins shooting later this fall.
