‘He-Man’ Returning with New Episode: A Look Back at the Most Ridiculous Characters

More than 30 years after the original series ended, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is returning with a brand-new episode, set to screen this week at San Diego Comic-Con. It’s called “The Curse of the Three Terrors,” and a short trailer was recently released.

Obviously, He-Man’s arch nemesis Skeletor is returning for the special episode, but what about some of the lesser-known heroes and villains? Despite running for only two seasons, He-Man racked up an impressive number of truly ridiculous characters.

Here are our favorite three:

  1. Man-E-Faces: Despite having a face meant for radio and a monotone voice better suited for an automated phone menu, Man-E-Faces main “power” is — I kid you not — his acting ability, which lets him impersonate bad guys.

  2. Clawful: In case Man-E-Faces wasn’t a blunt enough pun for you, Clawful has you covered. He’s half man, half lobster, and 100 percent bad pun.

  3. Faker: Just as Superman has Bizarro, He-Man has … Faker, a less-creatively named villain who looks just like He-Man but sounds nothing like him. Somehow, that doesn’t impede his ability to fool He-Man’s friends.

“The Curse of the Three Terrors” will be available on iTunes and Google Play on Aug. 1.
