Having a Rough Day? Watch This Baby Kangaroo Take a Bath

Babies are adorable, so, by proxy, baby kangaroos are also adorable. In a preview clip for the BBC Two program Natural World, Chris “Brogla” Barnes gives baby kangaroo Hope a bath to help fix a skin problem. Despite the need for Hope to be well-groomed, it doesn’t make the baby want the bath. “If we don’t stop her scratching, that could lead to stress,” explains Barnes. “And the stress of constantly scratching means you’re not sleeping. And if you’re not sleeping, Hope can get sick.”

After the wash, it’s time to dry. Barnes uses a blow dryer instead of a towel because it’s more efficient and he has to ensure that the kangaroo is completely dry. The final portion of the process involves Hope getting weighed — and by all accounts she is perfectly healthy.

Let’s enjoy Hope while she’s still adorable, as certain species of kangaroos can grow upward of 6 feet tall.
