What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday than to pay tribute to our favorite TV moms, who have made us laugh and cry and given us something to look forward to each week.
So in honor of the special day, we’ve asked some of today’s biggest stars about their favorite pop-culture matriarchs who hold a special place in their hearts.
While many classic TV moms top the list, including The Brady Bunch’s Carol Brady (Florence Henderson), Laura Petrie (Mary Tyler Moore) on The Dick Van Dyke Show and Florida Evans (Esther Rolle) from Good Times — there were also some recent ones, including Empire’s Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson), Transparent’s Shelly Pfefferman (Judith Light), and of course, Mrs. Baskets (Louie Anderson), from Baskets.
