'AFV' Celebrates Veterans Day with a Heartwarming Homecoming Montage
If, like Steel Magnolia’s Truvy, laughter through tears is your favorite emotion, then we’ve got a video for you. In honor of Veterans Day next Wednesday, November 11, this week we’re putting aside the crotch shots and pratfalls for an AFV montage that’s a bit more patriotic. You are absolutely going to want to have some tissues handy for this compilation of men and women of the armed forces surprising their loved ones with an unexpected homecoming. Whether it’s the young girl overwhelmed by her dad’s arrival at her recital or the pint-sized cheerleader who leaps into a solider’s waiting arms, the reunions in this video will make you cry happy tears.

There are still some laughs to be had, of course. Major props (see what I did there?) to the soldier who hid himself in a giant cardboard box, as well as the serviceman who disguised himself as Santa Claus — only to have his mom rip off his hat and fake beard to make sure it really is her son. Thanks to our men and women in uniform, and happy Veterans Day, everyone!
