Gwyneth Paltrow seems to have had a change of heart when it comes to the fashion event of the year.
After swearing off the Met Gala four years ago, the 44-year-old actress arrived to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night wearing a sleek, one-shoulder Calvin Klein By Appointment dress.
Paltrow originally dissed the annual Anna Wintour-hosted event back in 2013, telling USA Today, "I'm never going again. It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all."
She later told Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O that the punk-themed party "sucked."
"It seems like it's the best thing in the world, you always think, 'Oh my god, it's gonna be so glamorous and amazing, and you're going to see all these people,'" Paltrow said. "And then you get there, and it's so hot, and it's so crowded, and everyone's pushing you."
The Iron Man 3 star, who wore a hot pink Valentino gown, also criticized the gala's theme. "I think we're all a bit old to dress up punk. I just went as kind of normal."
Paltrow had no trouble getting into the spirit of this year's event, sharing a selfie on social media while getting ready with her hair and makeup team.
"Bit of spackle and paint with my Dream Team," she wrote on Instagram, along with the #metball hashtag.
The Goop founder then posted a throwback shot of her first-ever Met Gala in 1995, where she was also decked out in head-to-toe Calvin Klein, teasing her upcoming look.
As for why Paltrow has rediscovered her love for the Met Gala? It could be her multi-platform partnership with Condé Nast. The magazine giant, alongside artistic director Wintour, will be coproducing a quarterly publication with Paltrow based on her successful lifestyle and wellness website, Goop.com. The print edition, simply titled Goop, also encompasses digital and social initiatives and is slated for a September 2017 release.
"I've long known Gwyneth to have wonderful taste and vision — but with goop she has built something remarkable, a thoroughly modern take on how we live today," Wintour said. "Goop and Condé Nast are natural partners and I'm excited she's bringing her point of view to the company. We all look forward to working with her and her team."
