Greta Van Susteren Says Fox News “Hasn’t Felt Like Home” For Years
A little more than an hour after Fox News Channel said that Greta Van Susteren is out, the longtime On the Record host has broken her silence about her departure — and it sounds like it was a long time coming.
“Fox has not felt like home to me for a few years, and I took advantage of a clause in my contract which allows me to leave now,” Van Susteren said on Facebook. After working at the network formerly run by Roger Ailes for 14 years, her exit comes due to “financial disagreements,” sources with knowledge of the situation said today. Now it seems deeper and murkier waters were the cause.

Van Susteren’s exit also comes the same day FNC made a payout of around $20 million to former Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson in a settlement of her sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes. Van Susteren had defended her boss while he was still running FNC and was known to be one of the on-air talent who could go if he went. Ailes left FNC on July 21.
The next questions are who might be next to depart Fox News, and, of course, where will Van Susteren go next?
