Greatest Reality TV Personalities: Semifinals Round 1

In honor of the 15th anniversary of Survivor (the show that kick-started the reality TV revolution premiered on May 31, 2000), we’re celebrating our favorite reality TV personalities. Now that you’ve picked the winners in all eight categories, we’re pitting them against each other to determine the ultimate champ: The Greatest TV Personality of All Time! Today’s showdown: Four stars who have no problem hogging the spotlight.

Kim Kardashian, Keeping Up With the Kardashians (Seasons 1-present)

She’s one of the world’s most polarizing public figures, a successful businesswoman whose business, many believe, is making money off her sex-tape fame — and someone who has let us inside two spectacular weddings (and one astonishing divorce). Plus, she’s cried enough on the show and its sibling-centric spinoffs to warrant a “best of” montage.

Best Moment: Kim handled herself beautifully in the recent About Bruce special when she served as mediator between the person we now know as Caitlyn Jenner and her siblings and mother. — Mandi Bierly

Spencer Pratt, The Hills (Seasons 2-6)

He’s a walking, talking, smirking cautionary tale for young women everywhere. The moment the cheating, controlling, belittling party boy entered Heidi Montag’s life, he set to work isolating her from her family and friends — primarily bestie Lauren Conrad. It’s almost as though Spencer was trying to be a bad guy so the producers would give him more airtime.

Best Moment: Spencer’s Season 4 tantrum — in which he threatened to move out after Heidi’s sister Holly came to stay for a while — showcased all of his heinous qualities quite nicely. — Kristen Baldwin

Gordon Ramsay, Hell’s Kitchen (Seasons 1-present)

Arguably as important as Julia Child in the pantheon of television chefs, Gordon Ramsay brought a sense of menace and adrenaline to TV cooking that kick-started the entire genre of cooking competition shows. Oh sure, he can teach you to cook (his simple scrambled eggs demonstration is unparalleled), but it’s the fiery rock star version of Ramsay that we all fell in love with.

Best Moment: He’s more than just the f-bomb and “You donkey!” His most cutting remarks often involve no swearing at all. — Robert Chan

Uncle Si Robertson, Duck Dynasty (Seasons 1-7)

Uncle Si dispenses so much wisdom, there’s even a name for it: Si-cology! From his crazy Vietnam War stories to his advice about dogs to how “kids these days” don’t know a damn thing, Uncle Si keeps the wit flowing.

Best Moment: That time Si boasted about how he was going to kill a million ducks with his “icy stare” — an icy stare so strong he was once approached by a professor in a wheelchair, or so he said. — Kelly Woo
