'Game of Thrones,' 'Veep,' 'Silicon Valley' Renewed at HBO

Ahead of their Sunday season premieres, HBO has renewed Game of Thrones, Veep and Silicon Valley for new seasons to run in 2017.

The premium cable network made the announcement Thursday.

Game of Thrones is heading into its sixth season Sunday, while Veep begins Season 5 and Silicon Valley begins Season 3.

HBO and Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have previously stated that the George R.R. Martin adaptation fantasy series will probably end after Season 8. Season 6 of the series stars Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Aidan Gillen, Diana Rigg, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Jonathan Pryce.

Silicon Valley, created by Mike Judge, stars Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Jimmy O. Yang and Suzanne Cryer.

Veep’s fifth season will be the first without creator and original showrunner Armando Iannucci. The show stars Tony Hale,Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Sufe Bradshaw, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole and Sam Richardson.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO, with Silicon Valley on at 10 p.m. and Veep at 10:30 p.m.
