'Game of Thrones' Toys: Here's Your Exclusive First Look at the Mother of Dragons Set

Who wants to play with an army of green plastic nondescript guys when you can play with a whole army of the Unsullied? Since we know no one is going to raise their hands on that one, we’ll just skip right ahead to the part where we give you an exclusive sneak peek at the Game of Thrones Mother of Dragons Comic-Con display from McFarlane Toys, Unsullied and all.

McFarlane Toys, which is also the team behind all those awesome Walking Dead building sets, announced their partnership with HBO and Game of Thrones last week when they unveiled the Iron Throne Room set. But let’s be real: Joffrey’s dead, Khaleesi reigns.

This diorama, which will be on display in the company’s booth at San Diego Comic-Con, depicts the moment Daenerys Targaryen double-crosses the slave masters of Astapor and gains the loyalty of the Unsullied soldiers. This is an expanded build of the 200-piece Mother of Dragons construction set.

The Mother of Dragons building set, due in Spring 2016, includes a buildable Daenerys Targaryen holding “The Whip,” young Drogon, an Unsullied soldier with a spear and a shield, as well as the Astapor Gate with standards, a sandstone archway, and a portion of the bridge. It will retail for $19.99. The additional items you see in these photos — including Greyworm, Rhaegal, Viserion, the Dothraki soldier, and approximately 60 more members of the Unsullied — are available through other sets and blind bags.

The figures are all well-articulated and the scenes are all impressively rendered. Just look at the texture on the arch and Drogon’s wings!

“I’m very excited to work with HBO. They are a world-class network and Game of Thrones is one of the most visually compelling shows that I’ve ever seen,” McFarlane Toys CEO and founder Todd McFarlane, who’s also known for creating the Spawn comic-book series, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to create high-quality collectible construction sets based on this fan-favorite property. Both collectors and fans of this epic series can build their favorite scenes with this new product line.”

The line also includes 12 2-inch scale buildable blind bag figures that are as detailed as they are tiny. Characters who might pop up in your $3.99 purchase include Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, Daenerys, Grey Worm, Ghost, a three-eyed crow, and some Wildlings.

Because we know you’ll want to collect them all (we’re ready to hand over our babysitting money right now), here’s what Joffrey and the Iron Throne Room look like:
