Have Mercy! John Stamos Hints at 'Fuller House' Jesse and the Rippers Reunion

Sure, the Olsen twins are out, but there are a zillion other reasons to be excited about Netflix’s upcoming Full House sequel, Fuller House, and John Stamos just revealed another one: a Jesse and the Rippers reunion!

In this video chat with Yahoo TV, the star of Fuller House and Fox’s new comedy Grandfathered says he got the band back together, and viewers may even see them as soon as the first episode of the spinoff, which premieres on Netflix in January.

The sporter of one of the most famous mullets in primetime history also shares some memories of the ‘80s Rippers, whose most famous tunes included many a Beach Boy cover, including Uncle Jesse’s love ballad for Rebecca (Lori Loughlin), “Forever.” He mentions their 2013 reunion on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, for instance, and dishes on the band’s members, which depended on Stamos’s mood any given week.

“There were so many Rippers,” says the General Hospital alum. “It just depended on who was nice to me that week, you know, which musician friend … there must have been 20 different guys over the years.”

Fuller House, which will revolve around Tanner sisters D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure) and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s BFF Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), will also include appearances by Stamos, Bob Saget as Tanner papa Danny, and Dave Coulier as Bullwinkle-imitating, cut-it-outting Tanner family friend Joey Gladstone.

Fuller House premieres January 2016 on Netflix; Grandfathered premieres Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
