'Fresh Off the Boat' Sneak Peek: Chinese, If You Please

The first season of Fresh Off the Boat is coming to a close, and we’ve got an exclusive first look at the season finale of the hilarious ABC comedy. In this sneak peek clip from the episode “So Chineez,” our new favorite TV mom is doing what she does best: obsessing.

You’ve got to love Jessica (Constance Wu); her intentions are always good, even if the results are at the expense of her family. This time around, the Huang matriarch thinks her clan is losing their Chinese identity a few months after their Orlando relocation, so she announces it’s time for a crash course in Chinese culture — and not at the local Chinese learning center.

So, what does mama’s latest freak-out mean for the family? Well, the too-white Floridian country club is out (sorry, Louis!), a new wardrobe is in (Jessica went cheongsam shopping), and the kids are an hour away at an all-Chinese class in Tampa, where they can’t understand a word their instructor is saying (especially because he’s screaming).

Watch the clip above to see the Huangs try to reconnect with their Chinese roots, and check out the look Eddie (Hudson Yang) gives his teacher. (Hint: If apathy were a class, he’d get an A.)

The season finale of Fresh Off the Boat airs Tuesday, April 21 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
