Fox has promoted television casting executives Sharon Klein and Tess Sanchez. Klein has been named executive vice president, casting for Fox Television Group, and Sanchez EVP of casting for Fox Broadcasting.

Klein has spent the last 15 years leading casting efforts for 20th Century Fox Television. Among the series she has cast at the studio are “Empire,” “This is Us,” “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” “Modern Family,” “Glee,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “New Girl,” and “Homeland.” Klein was an independent casting director prior to joining the studio in 2001, and won a casting Emmy for her work on the HBO miniseries “From the Earth to the Moon.”

“We wanted to approach the casting of our shows from a single, unified perspective so that all our FTG divisions are reaping the benefits of our extraordinary casting teams, and there is no better person to lead our efforts than Sharon, whom we have deeply relied upon at the studio for over fifteen years,” said Fox Television Group chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman. “She is incredibly talented, enormously creative and beloved by showrunners, performers and executives alike. This promotion both recognizes the extraordinary contribution she has made and positions the programming of Fox Television Group for even greater success in the years ahead.”

Sanchez has been at Fox Broadcasting since 2009, and in 2011 was named head of casting for the network. She has worked on series such as “Empire,” “Grease Live!” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Gotham,” “Last Man on Earth,” “Wayward Pines,” “Lucifer,” and “The Mindy Project.” She was an independent casting director prior to joining Fox Broadcasting, and had previously served as a casting executive at the WB.

“We’re also pleased to announce that Tess has been elevated to Executive Vice President of Casting for the network in recognition of her outstanding work,” Walden and Newman said. “She’s a spectacular executive and will continue to be an invaluable partner to Sharon as we identify and attract the best acting talent to this company.”
