Former ‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules Arrested for Leaving the Scene of a Deadly Crash

Former “Bachelor” contestant Chris Soules — known by many as “Prince Farming” — was arrested early Tuesday morning after a deadly car crash.

TheWrap has learned that Soules was taken into custody by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office in Iowa after the pickup truck he was driving rear-ended a John Deere tractor at around 8 p.m. on Monday night.

Both the vehicles went into ditches. The person driving the tractor — 66-year-old Kenneth Eugene Moster — was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Soules was uninjured in the crash and fled the scene before police arrived, leaving his truck behind.

TMZ reported that Soules was in possession of alcoholic beverage containers at the time of the crash. The Sheriff’s Office wasn’t able to confirm if this was the case. TMZ also reported witnesses identified him at the scene and called the police at around 8:20 p.m.

Soules was arrested at his home near Arlington, Iowa, and charged with leaving the scene of an accident where a death occurred. He was taken to Buchanan County Jail where he was released on a $10,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office isn’t releasing any other information at this time, although a spokesperson said more charges could be pending.

Soules appeared on “The Bachelor” for Season 19 in 2015 after appearing on “The Bachelorette” in Season 10. He proposed to Whitney Bischoff in the finale, but the two called off their engagement. Since then, he’s appeared on other reality shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition.”

TheWrap has reached out to Soules’ reps for comment.
