'Flash' Season 3 Recap: New Timeline Proves to Be Barry Disappointing

On the season three premiere of The Flash, we found Barry Allen in an alternate timeline after preventing his mother's murder by the Reverse-Flash during the season two finale. While Barry enjoyed his new timeline with his parents both alive, Time was reacting to Barry's changes in reality. Despite the fact that Barry has dealt with the ramifications of changing timelines SEVERAL times throughout the first two seasons, he somehow thought that preventing his mother's death would go unnoticed. The Reverse-Flash warned Barry that there would be consequences to altering time again, saying, "This isn't your home, Barry. This is a mirage, a fiction that will end us both." The Reverse-Flash even added, "One day soon, Barry, you'll be begging me to kill her again." When Barry realized his memories were being erased, as was the original timeline, he did indeed ask the Reverse-Flash to kill his mother. After her death it appeared that the original timeline had been restored but Barry soon found out it was not.
