'The Flash' Finale: Man in the Iron Mask Revealed and Barry Ruins Time Continuum
The Flash finale was packed with excitement as a more powerful Barry finally duked it out with archnemesis Zoom. Barry hoped to not only got revenge for Zoom killing his father, he also wanted to keep Zoom from destroying the universe. In the episode Barry defeated Zoom by luring Time Wraiths to his location using a remnant of himself that he got after travelling back in time. After defeating Zoom, Barry learned the identity of the man in the iron mask that Zoom had been keeping prisoner. It turns out that he was the real Jay Garrick, a speedster from Earth 3. Not only that, but he was also Barry's dead father's doppelganger - apparently his dad's mother's maiden was Garrick! The episode ended with Barry going back in time and stopping his mother's murder. Obviously this is a massive breach of the time continuum and it looks like it could spell disaster for the Flash. Perhaps Barry is ready to hang his red suit up and see what life would've been like if he had just been a normal kid?
