Will Ferrell Reveals Why Mariah Carey Was Too Diva For His Movie 'The House'

Will Ferrell stopped by Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and he gave Cohen the 411 on how Mariah Carey's diva-tude led to her cameo getting the axe in Ferrell's new movie, The House. When Cohen asked, "Is it true she showed up four hours late to shoot?" the answer was "True" from Ferrell. When asked about what kind of script notes she had when she arrived he said, "Well, one script note was like, 'I don't wanna do this scene.' Yeah, even though it was totally approved ahead of time." So after showing up late and after saying she didn't want to do a scene, she threw one more wrench into the works which was to request she sing a different song than the one that they had agreed on previously. Ferrell couldn't remember what song she was supposed to sing but he said it "became quite a kerfuffle, aka, a sh** storm." And though she burned a few bridges on set, she did not forget about her precious fanbase who she calls her "lambies" by asking that there be stuffed lambs in her trailer. In the end, all the diva demands became just too much, and everyone gave up on the fantasy of a Mariah Carey cameo and Ferrell got a knock on his trailer door around 11 p.m. and was told, "You can go home."
