Eva Longoria said goodbye to "Desperate Housewives" at a wrap party for the exiting ABC drama over the weekend, and she opened up about what the show has meant to her life.

"I wouldn't have missed this for the world," she told Access Hollywood of flying back to Los Angeles after the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington DC, in order to make the event. "Eight years! Wrapping it up is so hard to do, because it's just such a big part of all of our lives. It changed my life completely -- in every single way."

Marcia Cross and Teri Hatcher weren't at the wrap party, but Eva said the ladies got to say their farewells.

"We got to say goodbye when we filmed," Eva said. "Marcia was supposed to be here, but something happened... We're really close, so I'm going to be seeing a lot of Marcia."

Eva said the finale, which airs in May, should be pleasing to loyal viewers of the drama.

"Wrapping all of it up, took all season. That's why we wanted to do it this way, knowing this was going to be our last year," she said. "So Marc [Cherry, the show's creator] really serviced each of the characters in a way that would satisfy everybody in the end."

Now that she's finished her "Desperate" run, Eva said she has plenty in the works.

"I never take my heels off. I'm Latin," she said. "I'm really driven and ambitious. I just want to do as much as I can now and rest later."
