The Fox drama has cast Morocco Omari (Homeland) in a major recurring role as an FBI hotshot who’ll cause trouble for the ousted head of Empire Entertainment — and he might wind up being a series regular.

Omari will play Tariq Cousins, who started off as one of the finest cops ever to work the streets of Philadelphia, then advanced to a post at the FBI where he eventually rose to the head of his entire department. Described as “a closer,” Tariq is “extremely bright and supremely confident — he never shows his hand, but doesn’t hide his intentions.”

It’s expected that Tariq will go “toe-to-toe” with Lucious — without any flinching. That’s where his smooth style — tempered by “an air of the streets” — will come in handy. “He moves without remorse, yet will always offer a person what’s fair before taking them out.”

Excited about Omari’s addition to the cast? Do you think Lucious will finally pay the legal price for his misdeeds? Sound off below!
