The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards were Sunday night and television’s biggest stars came out to celebrate their peers’ accomplishments. Jimmy Kimmel did a pretty good job hosting.
Kimmel has an ongoing feud with Matt Damon, who he refuses to have on his late night talk show, and it reared its ugly head during the broadcast. Kimmel had just lost in the category of outstanding variety series when Damon walked on stage eating an apple. Kimmel angrily asked, “What do you want?” And the movie star replied, “Calm down, man, I missed the last category. Did you win?” This drew a huge laugh from the audience.
Jeb Bush made a cameo in the opening act as Kimmel’s Uber driver, saying, “I’m in between jobs right now. You know you can make $12 an hour driving for Uber?” James Corden also joined Kimmel in the opening act, and the two recreated the Wham! hit “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.”
SNL actress Leslie Jones, who has been the victim of hackers recently, asked the Emmy accountants, Ernst and Young, to protect her Twitter account and naked pictures.
These were just some of the highlights. Watch the video above to see more.
